Spirit of Piaf
Following a successful season at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a run in theatres in the UK (of Pam Gems play "Piaf" produced by Troika Productions) "The Spirit of Piaf" a new revue show was created using monologues, dance, mime and of many of Piaf's songs.
The sound files given opposite are samples from the recording "The Essential Piaf" A CD which was made from the music from the show.
You can hear myself with...
Margaret Griffiths (vocals)
Liam Redican (backing vocals)
Ross Berkeley Simpson (backing vocals)
All under the guidance of the immensely skilled Stephen Powell who arranged the songs and plays piano here also.
It is with sadness that I include these exerpts as our singer Margaret Griffiths unfortunately lost her battle with cancer some time ago. But proof that music will always live on. And testimony here to a wonderfully gifted performer and memories of a great show which I will always be proud to have been involved with.
